Card holds, and what a declined hold means

A hold is not a charge. Your bank shows it as pending, and the card is charged only after the job is finished and photographed. See How and when you're charged.

When the hold happens

When the job is far enough away, the hold is placed ahead of it and nothing is held when you book. Checkout tells you which applies to your booking.

The hold is placed 48 hours before the job. A booking made inside that time is held when you book.

If the hold is declined

A bank can decline a hold, or the booking can have no card on it. You are not charged. The job shows what happened and a Choose another card button, with the time by which it needs fixing.

  • Pick a saved card, or add a new one, from the job under Your jobs.
  • We try the card you choose within a few minutes. You can still choose a different one until the deadline on the job.
  • If the deadline passes without a hold, the booking is cancelled and you are not charged.

If something looks wrong

If a hold or a charge on your statement does not match what the job shows, email support@getdripbase.com with the job's date and the amount. Do not send a full card number.
